Please don't worry

We were all meant to cry, just not in this minute.

Because this minute, may be all there is...

There's a picture you keep by your bedside at night,

It's the one of me smiling so you can say I'm alright.

But you know in your heart it's just for that minute,

It's only a memory but all you have not to worry.

The phone is there too but you pray not to use it,

The night is too long not to have you within it.

Tomorrow's a new day, it could bring many things?

But to just hear your voice would mean everything.

There's a lake that I found at the crest of a hill,

My shoes by the backdoor are waiting there still.

For me to come home, take my own little place,

So you can be by her side, how I miss your face.

From first breath to sunsets is a mothers endless caring,

This can't be the end those so much left for sharing.

I pray that the hurt will be lesser tomorrow,

And we can be done with the pain and the sorrow.

Please say there's a chance we can still be together,

I'll love you this moment and I'll love you forever.

I saw my life for the first time one dark morning

The stars pushed impossibly close along the horizon in its ever widening arc

Like a million matchsticks, sparkling flames,

Such a grand birthday wish, I called out your name,

but it's not enough to light your way home
